The Edge of Madness

£10.99

The Edge of Madness is Tony Birtley’s first novel, a work of fiction heavily based on fact. It centres on the Bosnian War and, in particular, the events in the capital Sarajevo and the eastern enclave of Srebrenica, where a brutal siege and widespread ethnic cleansing defined a new kind of warfare in the heart of Europe.

In mixing fact and fiction Birtley has tried to highlight the causes and effects of a war which split communities and families, where neighbour fought neighbour in an age-long cycle of violence which has plagued the Balkans for centuries. He mixes the rich tapestry of history with the modern warfare where truth and humanity are the first casualties. The book is available on Amazon in paperback and Ebook.
